Abstract: The international economic and investment reality has forced the European Union (EU) to adopt measures that, on the one hand, encourage foreign direct investments (FDI) on its territory, and on the other, to protect its economic, financial and strategic interests, given that these investments can pose a real risk to its security. In this article we intend to present the mechanism established by Regulation (EU) 2019/452 screening of foreign direct investments into EU and to analyze to what extent the chosen solution can lead to the achievement of the proposed purpose.
