Abstract: This article examines the historic development of efforts to sanction offences of deceit; the first part of the study, published in the previous issue of the Journal, dealt with the regulations of offences of deceit present in Roman law and in Old Romanian law. This second part looks at the regulations concerning the offence of deceit present in the 1864, 1936, and 1968 Criminal Codes, as well as at certain aspects of Law 301/2004 (repealed) and the modifications brought by Law 202/2010 which are relevant to the focus of this study, as well as a presentation of the regulation of the offence of deceit in the New Criminal Code.
