Abstract: The phenomenon of human trafficking constitutes a stark reality of contemporary society, manifesting itself through increasingly sophisticated forms adapted to modern technological trends. Intensified globalization has led, at the international level, not only to the rise of freedom of movement, but also to the emergence of the premises to transnational vulnerabilities. Even more so, the current circumstances are particularly advantageous to exploitation, as traditional methods of recruitment have gradually been replaced by innovative tactics tailored to the digital age. Within this framework, it becomes clear that preventive measures alone are no longer sufficient and that victims often lack access to comprehensive protection mechanisms. Nevertheless, institutional approaches to trafficking are undergoing continuous adaptation, with efforts aimed at identifying effective methods of eradication, both at the national and European levels and increasingly within broader international frameworks. Thus, the evolution of the trafficking phenomenon appears to be directly proportional to the institutional efforts deployed to improve its management and suppression.
