Abstract: In this paper, we will analyze from a legal-literary perspective the three conditions of validity listed in the legal definition of a patentable invention: novelty, inventive step and industrial application. The literary canvas of our legal study will be composed of the lyrics of the three fables that we have chosen: “Calul și locomotiva” by G. Sion, “Cuiul” by Tudor Arghezi and “Microfabulă” by Aurel Baranga. Through simplification, we try to delve deeper into technical-legal aspects vital to the field of patentable inventions. Beyond their literary dimension, these lyrics concentrate a legal facet of some key notions; in this case, it is about the three conditions of patentability. Though, the abstract nature of these legal notions can be illustrated and deciphered.
