Abstract: Summoning other people constitutes a form of third-party participation in the civil process that has seen relatively little practical applicability under the rule of the previous Civil Procedure Code regulations. The regulation of the new Code, corroborated with express provisions contained in the Civil Code regarding the incidence of this institution in the case of a dispute related to co-ownership, is likely to bring back into discussion certain characteristics of this institution. The article analyses some controversies that have arisen in the doctrine regarding this form of participation of third parties in the civil process, and conclusions are formulated based on the arguments retained.
Keywords: civil process, parties, third parties, suing other people, co-ownership
