Abstract: Crime statistics on offences against patrimony, with emphasis on the offence of deceit. Although crime statistics on the offence of deceit has certain limitations, such an approach is useful because it serves to highlight the evolution and the dimension of the criminal phenomenon concerning offences of deceit, with the purpose of contributing  to prevention and control measures and with the possibility of establishing a profile of those who commit these crimes. A periodic review of the extent of offences of deceit will allow, according to the results found, establishing measures or identifying ways to improve the efficiency of the activities designed to combat the criminal phenomenon in this area.
